SEM Tip

Back to SEM today. Search engines are a very good tool to study competition. Let's say that you have found the set of 20 keywords defining your market, and website (if you have not done that already, I highly recommend you to do so, even though ... I have not done that yet for Jazar... do what I say, but don't say what I do).

You may be then interested to see who is ranking well in search engines for such keywords.

An obvious one for us is Jazar. We currently only rank 3, an other company is before us - and surprise surprise they are roughly in the same field. Ok, my objective is that in 2 month, we are number one.

I'll do my SEO homework, but do I have to check everyday if the ranking has changed? noooo . Instead use this very good too : TrackEngine. You drag and drop their object on your browser, and use it to save the search results pages for your keywords. Let's say for us:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=jazar&btnG=Google+Search

that's it. This engine will scan the results page every day, and send you a warning as soon as a change appears (which most probably is a change in ranking, or a new ccompetitor for the same keyword).

go Jazar, go to number 1!
