Big changes in ranking!
Aie Aie Aie... even straight optimisation seems not to work anymore with the new google update!
Funny, if I add &filter=0 at the end of the url, google display proper results (results I would expect) :
example :
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=jazar&btnG=Google+Search&meta=&filter=0
Here is a piece of advice I have taken from Joe Bob about this big new google update:
1) go back and read the theories on what people called "topic sensitive page rank" - then apply that to your BACKLINK strategies.
I'll explain what it is all about in a next post.
2) go for low pr links on CLEAN sites .....FORGET high pr links on sites with tables of links at the bottom of the page to DIFFERENT types of sites - if you already have some that have been there for a long time - maybe they are of value but NEW ones may cause a penalty or be of no value -
Here we go. don't try to buy links through linkadage and stuff anymore!
3) don't put up a link and expect for it to benefit you for maybe 3 to 8 months - also, i think the age of links may be an issue - there may be grandfathering or some overcomming of a filter based on age -
It is going to take longer & longer to optimise a site!
4) be careful about some specific sites - i have seen some cases that look a LOT like "catching measeales" from a site for example i put some new links on one specific site - and literally for that KW dropped from 16 down to 90 - some large and IMMEDIATE response then some more gradual drops over say a month period - i really think it was just google had that site on their BAD SITE list - those links will be comming down soon after the original 120 day test i planned - so i'll see if they reverse that KW problem - i expect that will solve the problem - it did NOT affect ANY of the other KW for that site - so ALL this BLOOP stuff seems to be KW specific - not a domain wide problem ....
don't think we need to worry to much about this one
In summary? well, forget about buying links and stuff, unless the themes are the same & they are not reciprocal. In short, look, smell, taste as natural links even though they are not really. All is about good links, but google (& yahoo apparently) award hard workers, and penalize lazy webmasters who think that SEO is just about spending money and buying out your way at the top of the SERP ...
What is happening here is that trading straight links is becoming more & more attractive for big websites (with big PageRanks), and may want to stop advertising through overture & google (using adsense & co) to display partner's links instead (links they are trading for big big money). Yahoo & google cannot aford that, and that's why they are now fighting that!
