Long time I have not recommended tools. here we go, nice one here:
http://www.iconico.com/colorpic/index.aspx: want to pick up a colour from the screen. Before, it was a print screen, open photoshop, save it, and then picjk up the colour. Now it is a little bit easier with this tool.

and if you are using Firefox, the ColorZilla extension does that for you and much more, without leaving your browser window.
