Thanks heaps for your post. I am in the process of changing ISP's and was still using my old ISP (which provided a POP 3 account). The new one didn't so I had to purchase a POP3 account from another provider. I had set up a new profile in outlook for the new email account and was using the old ISP connection but kept getting the error message ünable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server". After several hours of troubleshooting using advice from the new ISP I finally goodled and found your comment. I hooked up the new ISP and tested the email account and all is working great.

hi, i have the same problem since few days, I have 2 mail account, one with my ISP which works yell and another one with a webmail provider and everything worked fine for months, then since few days I was also frustrated with outlook and my antivirus settings as they seems to be good but the same problem was reported when sending a mail via my webmail provider. I will contact them to report the problem, Thanks for your information.
